The primary objective of a tutor is to help a student improve his/her academic performance. I assist with this goal by tailoring my teaching style to each individual. This means I can always provide alternative explanations for a concept, create memory hooks when needed, and work at his/her learning pace.

It's great to understand information, but— we've all been there— when someone explains something to us and then we promptly forget once they're gone. To alleviate this situation, not only do I continually check in to make sure students understand material throughout our sessions, but I also leave them with a tangible tool. During each lesson I create neat, organized, and colorful handwritten notes that the student can keep for reference on future assignments and use in studying. This way, even when I'm not with the student, my help is still present.

Being an exceptional tutor takes more than quality teaching skills; it also requires someone to be energetic, patient, and kind. I understand that most students aren't pumped about tutoring; some people feel embarrassed (which is why I promise confidentiality), others are nervous about newness, and coming to a tutor means asking for help, and that's hard for some people. I want to be a cheerleader on each student's team and make him/her feel comfortable asking questions.

Tutoring is teaching, and tutoring is a business. Businesses are founded upon relationships, and this is why I value quality communication with both students and parents. I take my job seriously, and I truly care about making a positive impact; you won't find me doing anything but tutoring when I'm on the job.

As a bonus, my age is a differentiator. I am in my 20s— not so far out of school to have forgotten what it's like for the kids, but also a mature adult who can appreciate the parents' side of things. I strive to be an inspiration for other people, so I hope to be a role model in your child's life!
